Claudia Slanar was born in Vienna/Austria. She studied business administration, art history and film studies, worked as freelance writer, curator and teacher for fine arts and film/video art, came to CalArts to study aesthetics and politics and decided to stay a bit longer. In her theoretical and practical work she wants to challenge forms of representation as well as models of identity. Currently she is looking for new narrative forms and cross-over-writing styles, is collecting pseudonyms and trying to perform theory.
